+ Recycling Efficiency and Environmental Responsibility
Western Electrical understands that the efficiency of each step in the recycling process of spent lead-acid batteries directly impacts overall recycling efficiency. As such, the company continually evaluates and enhances its recycling schemes to ensure maximum resource recovery and minimal environmental impact.

+ Waste Management
The primary waste streams associated with Western Electrical's manufacturing processes are linked to onsite lead related manufacturing operations. The waste include mud, sludge, electrolyte waste from batteries, cells, accumulators, and related components. Lead is the predominant material found in these waste streams, while sulfuric acid represents the main waste component derived from used electrolytes. Within the framework of both global and local Environmental Management Systems, Western Electrical’s facilities prioritize waste prevention, recycling, and resource recovery. The Company maintains a strong focus on the structured collection, segregation, and recycling of waste materials, reinforcing its commitment to responsible and sustainable waste management practices.
+ Water Management
Water used in Western Electrical operations primarily supports manufacturing processes and is mostly sourced from municipal suppliers. We maintain strict protocols to prevent spills and accidental releases, reflecting our strong global operational standards. We recycle and reuse water throughout our operations. For instance, closed-loop water recycling systems minimize waste water by reusing formation bath cooling water in our battery production facilities, and pasting recycling systems retain acid and oxide in a controlled process within our recycling facilities, these measurements demonstrating our commitment to sustainable water management.

Our manufacturing and distribution facilities meet ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 Quality Management System standards, demonstrating adherence to industry standards and customer needs.
