I picked up a guitar for the first time at the age of 17, after spending years as a passive listener. The sound of the electric guitar haunted my thoughts and I was going to put all my energy into a field which then became my profession. Rocked by the sound of Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Saxon and Metallica, the practice of the instrument was entirely self-taught.
My YouTube channel was created in 2008 when I had to host a video to enter a competition and win a Joe Satriani CD on the Ibanson website. One thing leading to another, the views arrived as did the subscribers. The first educational spoken video dealt with artificial harmonics after several hundred purely musical videos. Les Astuces de Nono was launched to meet with significant success in the guitar community. In 2012, I was hired by Guitar Part magazine, first as a tester then as an editor, teacher and all-round contributor (notably August issue saver).
After leaving Guitar Part, I joined Audiofanzine for a while then Guitare Xtreme. The hats of editor and tester have always fascinated me, having the pleasure of good verbs and good spelling.
At the same time, I released my first instrumental solo album "Welcome to Neocity", a cyber metal type, in 2015 followed shortly after by "Retrocompatible", an album from the Flashlight project imbued with synthwave and which constitutes a tribute to all the pop culture of the 80s and 90s which weaves the whole web of my influences. An album with the project A Taste of Freedom was released, traditional power metal, the sequel to which was simply canceled.
With ADX, a legendary French group, I recorded the albums Bestial and Etranges Visions. A new album is in progress and will be released in 2024. At the same time, I continue my instrumental solo compositions, the latest release of which, Into the Light, crystallizes my desire to no longer personally subscribe to the album format or the vicious dance of crowdfunding. I create my music and share it according to my desire and my inspiration, title after title. The system of filler to complete an album repels me and becomes contrary to everything I believe in: the purity of the subject and of the music itself. No more financial parameters = total and absolute freedom.
I provide a number of masterclasses across France as well as in neighboring countries and I plan to offer a new educational format at the start of the 2023 school year with the Workshops: work and play. A format with a limited number of participants with an increased emphasis on precision and effective guitar work with content oriented towards discipline and rigor.
Endorsed by SOLAR Guitars since 2023, Savarez, Guitar Pro, Two Notes and LNA Effects, I provide masterclasses throughout France alone or sometimes accompanied by Patrick Rondat, Christophe Godin, Pascal Vigné, Stéphan Forté, Bruno Ramos, Yvan Guillevic or Alex Cordo. I'm part of three bands: ADX (speed thrash metal) and GatlinG (general cover hard heavy thrash metal). Big things are planned in parallel with my activities on the internet including lives, courses, videos, educational packs as well as courses on Discord.
